I'd Like To...

The world is not a happy place
We've let the morons rule our space
I'd like to teach the world to sing
A song that has a happy ring
With a chorus to drown what the morons say
A refrain so sweet to brighten the day.

  2. Great job !

Perfect harmony would be so wonderful if peace reigned over the whole earth...it starts with the individual and is taught at home first !

  3. What song would you pick for the world?

I started out doing a poem, but it wasn't working for me.

    Good job!

  4. I complain about the silly songs that are sung out there, but they sure lighten the mood around our house.

You struck a nerve with this little piece. When will sanity again rule the land?

  12. Jeff, you got inside my head with this. I feel that, too. The world feels unsettled and I feel like Chicken Little some days...waiting for the sky to fall!

    This was brilliant.

  15. Beautiful verse, Jeff! Perfect for the prompt, too.
Your verse expresses perfectly, the thoughts that I tried to convey with my little prose-story. But your text says it better!

    Best wishes & hugs,
